As per reports, a severe storm hit the Pyrenees-Orientales region on Tuesday (08 October) starting at 1700 hours local time affecting areas like Perpignan and surrounding regions.

• In Perpignan, torrential rainfall led to flooding, near Avenue Panchot. Several homes reported water intrusion, prompting responses from the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service (SDIS 66), which began assisting in flood-prone areas.
• Roads were also affected, with the central avenue of Soler partially flooded. The storm had started the previous evening in the mountainous regions of Cerdagne and Capcir, where strong winds and hail, though not causing significant damage, impacted local vegetation.
• As of Tuesday (08 October) evening, the storm was moving south towards the foothills of the Albères, and residents are urged to stay cautious and follow updates on potential risks.
