As per reports, the southern zonal council meeting is scheduled to take place in Mamallapuram near Chennai on Friday (31 January), and will be chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The meeting will witness the participation of representatives from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana and Puducherry.
During the meeting, issues including boundary-related disputes, security, infrastructure concerns including road, transport, water, and power, amongst others, housing, education, tourism and transportation will be addressed. All security arrangements will be overseen by the Tambaram Police Commissionerate.
