As per reports, South Korea has enacted a new law with the objective of ending the slaughter and sale of dogs for meat by the year 2027. According to the law, breeding or slaughtering of dogs for consumption will be prohibited, along with the distribution or sale of dog meat.

Violating the law could result up to three years of imprisonment or a penalty of 30 million won (USD 22,800).
