As per reports, Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) has issued Yellow-level forest fire risk warnings until Wednesday (08 July) for several regions across western and eastern Sweden due to high to very high wildfire risk.

• For parts of western Götaland, the warning remains in effect from 0330 hours local time (0130 hours UTC) on Tuesday (07 July) until 0230 hours local time (0030 hours UTC) on Wednesday (08 July).
• According to SMHI, dry vegetation and prevailing weather conditions have created conditions where forest and land fires can ignite easily and spread rapidly.
• Separately, SMHI has also issued a forest fire warning covering almost all of Sörmland, parts of Stockholm County, Västmanland, and parts of Östergötland for Wednesday (08 July).
• The warning will remain in effect throughout the day, with authorities cautioning that fires could be triggered by campfires, sparks from machinery, or lightning strikes.
• SMHI warned that any wildfire occurring under the current conditions could spread quickly through forested areas. Fires affecting power line corridors could also result in localized electricity and telecommunications disruptions.
• Authorities are urging the public to exercise extreme caution with outdoor activities that may generate sparks or open flames and to comply with any local fire bans that may be in force.
