As per reports, a suspected hand grenade was found at a playground near Oscar Fredrikskyrkan in Linnéstaden, Gothenburg on Wednesday (27 May).
• Police were alerted at approximately 1000 hours local time (0800 hours UTC) regarding the object.
• A large area was cordoned off by law enforcement.
• The National Bomb Protection Unit was called to the scene to assess the object.
• The incident was classified as a serious violation of the Flammable and Explosives Act.
• Shortly before 1200 hours local time (1000 hours UTC), police confirmed no risk of detonation and the cordons were lifted.
