As per reports, the Halland County emergency services (Räddningstjänsten) responded to a heavy industrial fire at the Stena Recycling facility in Halmstad on Saturday (13 June).
• Emergency crews were initially dispatched to the site at approximately 1305 hours local time (1105 hours UTC) following reports of a fire originating within large outdoor storage piles.
• On-scene rescue leaders confirmed the blaze involved substantial stacks of scrap electrical cables measuring up to seven meters high.
• Specialized fire apparatus from Halmstad City Airport along with Stena Recycling employees assisted municipal crews with the extinguishing operation.
• Duty officer Peter Karlborg confirmed that the blaze was successfully brought under control at 1619 hours local time (1419 hours UTC).
• Although containment was achieved with no risk of the fire breaching the facility perimeter, response teams are scheduled to maintain an active presence until 2000 hours local time (1800 hours UTC) to handle overhaul and scene dismantling.
• The affected areas include the Stena Nordic Recycling Center yard, Kattegattshamnen industrial zone, local access routes off Oceanvägen, and the immediate surrounding commercial sectors of the Halmstad port area.
