As per reports, Typhoon Podul brought extreme weather conditions to southern Taiwan on Wednesday (13 August), bringing torrential rain, high winds, and widespread disruption across the region.
• According to the latest reports, more than 110 individuals are injured, nd more than 40000 households are experiencing power outages at the time of the reporting.
• A total of 8024 people had been evacuated across eight cities and counties, including Tainan, Kaohsiung, Pingtung, Hualien and Taitung.
• While the typhoon has since moved away from Taiwan, severe weather warnings and flood alerts remain in place in affected areas.
• The flooding have reportedly caused infrastructure damage for instance at the intersection of Zhongzheng Road and County Highway 185 in Fangliao Township.
