As per reports, on Wednesday (20 August) at approximately 1556 hours (local time), a brush fire, named the Beacon Fire, was reported near Alcott Place and Ridgeway Avenue in Laguna Niguel, California.

• The Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) reported that the fire had burned roughly three acres of vegetation by late afternoon.
• The fire threatened homes in a densely populated neighborhood, leading to immediate deployment of firefighting resources.
• The cause of the fire remains under investigation and has not yet been determined.
• As a precaution and to support residents, the city opened a care and reception center at Crown Valley Community Center, located at 29751 Crown Valley Parkway.
• The fire coincided with a regional heat wave affecting Southern California, which has increased fire risk in dry brush areas.
