As per reports, the Sri Chatrapati Shivaji Maratha Navyuvak Mandal announced grand-scale celebrations for Shivaji Jayanti in Hyderabad, on Wednesday (19 February), including a large public procession through the Old City. The rally is expected to begin at Puranapul Darwaza and pass through key locations including Puranapul Gandhi Statue, Jummerat Bazaar, Begum Bazaar, Bartan Bazaar, and Afzalgunj, before culminating at the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji at Imliban Park near Salar Jung Bridge.
The organizers had projected a participation of approximately 20,000 people, with horses, camels, chariots, and musical performances enhancing the vibrancy of the procession. The event was also expected to feature Telangana Minister Poonam Prabhakar and Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament (MP) Anil Kumar Yadav, who would be attending the celebrations at Imliban Park at 1600 hours.
