As per reports, the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) has called for a statewide class boycott in Keralam on Thursday (01 October), protesting alleged police assaults on students at the University Men’s Hostel in Thiruvananthapuram.
• SFI has also announced marches to the offices of all district police chiefs across the state. The organisation alleged that police entered the hostel and assaulted students, including SFI state secretary Sanjeev.
• The Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) has condemned the police action and indicated the possibility of street protests. Separate DYFI protest venues and timings have not been specified.
