Security measures increased across Siliguri Corridor against potential terrorist threat as of Monday (23 December)

As per reports, police authorities in West Bengal have warned of a a potential attack threat to Siliguri corridor by a sleeper cell of Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT), a terror group linked to Al-Qaeda.

The Siliguri corridor is a strategic link connecting the Northeast to the rest of India. Following the threat, authorities in Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, and other northeastern states are on high alert.
