As per reports, a mob attacked the Zinzuwada police station in Gujarat’s Surendranagar district on Friday (05 January) to free a history-sheeter criminal who had been apprehended by the police on the same day.

The mob reportedly attacked policemen who had apprehended the criminal, injuring three in the process.

• A Sub inspector and two constables were attacked when they were returning to Zinzuwada police station in a private car with an alleged bootlegger, who was arrested after being on the run for some time.
• The suspect managed to flee and teams have been formed to arrest him as well those in the mob that attacked the police party.
