As per reports, citizens of Vasai Vasant Nagari will stage a protest against administrative negligence of public grounds on Sunday (23 March) from 1600 to 1830 hours at Vasant Nagari Ground.

• Reportedly , during a fair organised by Vasai-Virar City Municipal Corporation (VVCMC) at Vasant Nagari Ground, a young man died due to an electric shock from open wires.
• The incident has sparked outrage amongst locals who have accused the administration of gross negligence.
• Residents have also accused the administration of corruption stating that the ground is only for sports and cultural activities, but was rented out for commercial reasons.
• As a result, at present, Deputy Commissioner of Vasai Virar City Municipal Corporation Sameer Bhumkar stated that 17 grounds located in the Municipal Corporation area have been banned for commercial events. No permission will be given for any kind of commercial, political and personal programs.
