As per reports, a Prime Air Boeing 767-300 operated by Cargojet overran the eastern boundary of Vancouver International Airport’s (YVR) north runway (Runway 8L) while landing at approximately 0145 hours (local time) on Tuesday (19 November).
• The aircraft, carrying Amazon packages, was arriving from Hamilton, Ontario. All three crewmembers aboard were uninjured and exited the plane safely.
• The runway has been closed to air traffic and will remain shut for approximately 48 hours until Wednesday (20 November) to facilitate investigations and necessary maintenance.
• The Vancouver International Airport (YVR) operations continue with flights using the south runway, but delays and disruptions to flight schedules are expected.
• The Transportation Safety Board of Canada has deployed a team to investigate the incident. YVR has advised passengers to check their flight schedules and status prior to heading to the airport. Additional terminal resources have been allocated to assist travelers during this period.
