As per reports, the National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for most of the Bay Area, California, from 2300 hours local time on Thursday (17 October) until 1700 hours local time on Saturday (19 October), due to expected strong winds and low humidity significantly raising the risk of fires.
• The warning covers all nine Bay Area counties, including San Francisco, the Peninsula coast and the San Francisco Bay shoreline.
• Winds are expected to reach 25-35 miles per hour (mph), gusting to 45 mph, with peak winds occurring late Thursday (17 October) into Friday (18 October).
• At the highest elevations, isolated wind gusts up to 65 mph are possible, most notably in the interior mountains of the North Bay and the Diablo Range.
