As per reports, a rally is scheduled to take place in Amstetten’s Main Square on Thursday (23 January), three days before the municipal council elections.
• The demonstration, titled Standing up for democracy, human rights, climate protection and media freedom, is organized by a group of independent and non-partisan citizens.
• The district administration of Amstetten estimates around 50 participants for the event. The authorities have not disclosed the names of the organizers.
• A loud protest with the use of posters, lights, drums, horns, and whistles is planned, starting at 1800 hours (local time).
• The rally may also serve as a platform for campaigners in the lead-up to the upcoming municipal elections.
