As per forecasts issued by the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), thunderstorms, rainfall, and cloudy conditions are expected across multiple parts of Nigeria on Thursday (28 May), in parts of southern and southeastern Nigeria.
• Thunderstorms and rainfall are forecast across parts of Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Bayelsa, Delta, Edo, Ondo, Ogun, Lagos, and southeastern coastal regions.
• Moderate to heavy rainfall activity is expected in parts of southeastern and coastal Nigeria, including areas marked under orange and red alert zones on the forecast map.
• Parts of central Nigeria, including Abuja, Plateau, Nasarawa, Benue, Kogi, Niger, and Kwara states, are expected to experience cloudy conditions with isolated rainfall and thunderstorms.
• Northern states including Sokoto, Katsina, Kano, Yobe, Borno, Kebbi, Zamfara, and Kaduna are forecast to experience partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with generally good visibility.
• Localized thunderstorms and rainfall activity are also expected across parts of the southwest, south-south, and central regions during morning hours.
