As per reports, rail services on the east coast line have resumed after the derailment of the Puyuma Express train on Wednesday (10 April) night at 2110 hours due to falling rocks in Hualien County. No injuries were reported due to the derailment on the route from Taitung to New Taipei’s Shulin.

The passengers were picked up by a relief train at 2221 hours at Heping Station. The derailed train was put back onto the rails at around 0330 hours on Thursday (11 April) and towed to Heping Station at 0450 hours. After a complete inspection, the service resumed on the line at 0600 hours.
