As per reports, on Sunday (22 September) during a farewell visit to Veracruz, Mexico, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) faced protests and a physical assault attempt.
• As the President arrived at the Port of Veracruz accompanied by Governor Cuitláhuac García, a water bottle was thrown in his direction by an unidentified individual.
• The incident occurred amid anti-government chants from a section of the crowd, reportedly composed of judiciary workers protesting President AMLO’s administration.
• Despite the security breach, President AMLO continued his scheduled activities, including the inauguration of the Leyes de Reforma Cultural Center, without directly addressing the incident.
