As per reports, hundreds of workers from the Judicial Branch of the Federation (PJF) demonstrated on Sunday (05 May) in Mexico City.

• The protest was held to demand respect for judicial autonomy and independence and reject the reform that seeks to elect judges, magistrates and ministers by popular vote.
• The workers, including judges and magistrates from different states of Mexico gathered for the protest at Paseo de la Reforma.
• The reform, promoted by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, seeks to elect judges, magistrates and ministers of the Supreme Court of Justice by popular vote.
• In addition, they criticised the intentions to reduce their budget and eliminate trusts in their favor.
• The workers of the Judicial Branch also replicated this act in other places.
