Protest and traffic congestion reported in Jhiri on Sunday (17 March)

According to reports, some unknown person entered a temple and destroyed the idols in Jhiri village under the Pohri police station. On Sunday (17 March), the villagers blocked the village demanding the arrest of the accused in protest against the incident. After receiving information about the traffic congestion, Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) along with police and administration officials also reached the spot. The villagers withdrew after the authorities agreed to a time limit for arresting the accused. At present, the police have registered a criminal case against the unknown accused and begun investigating the case.
