As per reports, more than a thousand pro-Palestine protesters carried out rallies and traffic blockades in Mexico City on Wednesday (15 May), marking the day of formation of the state of Israel.
• Protesters gathered around the Alrededor de la glorieta del Ángel in Mexico City from the afternoon hours, raising slogans and calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.
• They also urged the Mexican government to consider breaking diplomatic relations with Israel in response to alleged human rights violations committed by the Israeli army.
• The protests were organized by the Common Platform for Palestine and the Peace Platform for Palestine, along with the Interuniversity and Popular Assembly for Palestine of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and the Mexican Union of Electricians (SME).
