As per reports, the Spanish trade unions CCOO (Workers’ Commissions) and UGT (General Union of Workers) are scheduled to organize demonstrations in parts of Spain and other parts of Spain to protest the wrongful use of social protection measures by political parties.

• These protests are in response to political actions that nearly jeopardized the ‘omnibus’ decree, which includes critical measures such as pension revaluation and transport subsidies.
• These protests will occur across various cities in Spain, including Plaza del Altozano in Albacete, Plaza de la Constitución in Ciudad Real, Plaza de España in Cuenca, Plaza Mayor in Guadalajara, and Plaza de Zocodover in Toledo, all starting at 1200 hours (local time) on Sunday (02 February) .
• The protests seek to pressure parliamentary groups to expedite the approval of the royal decree law and ensure that it serves the public interest without undue delays. CCOO and UGT emphasize the need for Parliament to prioritize the people’s rights over short-term political strategies.
