As per reports, a significant service outage affecting AT&T, one of the leading telecommunications providers, has resulted in widespread disruptions to phone services, impacting users across various regions in the US on Thursday (22 February).

The problems with AT&T’s services began early on Thursday (22 February). The company acknowledged the issue and is actively working to address it as soon as possible. The cause or an estimated resolution time was not provided.

• Some locations in the country are also experiencing issues when contacting emergency services, including 911. Emergency services across the US acknowledged the current phone service issue and advised people to use alternative phone options. They advised against testing the functionality by calling 911 unnecessarily.
• The AT&T outage appears to be impacting other telecommunications networks, such as Verizon and T-Mobile. Customer reports on platforms like Down Detector and Twitter suggest service disruptions. However, this appears to be a consequence of the AT&T outage, as individuals on the affected network are unable to make calls to users on different networks. Both Verizon and T-Mobile have officially denied experiencing any issues on their respective networks.
• AT&T has recommended that affected users connect to WiFi and use it to call people.
• AT&T reported successfully restoring 75 percent of its network. The company’s network teams promptly responded, and efforts are ongoing to swiftly reinstate service for the remaining affected customers.
• Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, and New York are among the locations reporting the most signal issues.
