As per reports, naxalites attacked the bauxite mines of Hindalco Industries in Gulma district on Monday (08 January) night, resulting in setting fire to around eight vehicles used for mining activities. After setting fire to eight vehicles, including trucks, pickup vans and a water tanker, leaflets were left at the site, along with threats in case excavation of the forests continued.
The Communist Party of India (Maoist) is allegedly responsible for the incident and has stated that no work in the area can be done without the permission of the party.
