As per reports, the Meteoroloji Genel Müdürlüğü (MGM) has issued a maritime storm warning for the western sector of the Western Mediterranean coast on Thursday (23 July).
• The gale-force wind advisory specifically covers the sea area between Fethiye in Muğla Province and Finike in Antalya Province.
• Westerly and northwesterly winds are forecast to intensify after 1400 hours local time (1100 hours UTC) on Friday (24 July), reaching forces six to eight on the Beaufort scale.
• Peak maritime wind speeds are expected to range between 50 kilometres per hour and 75 kilometres per hour, generating rough sea conditions and elevated wave heights.
• The storm activity is projected to lose intensity and clear toward 2359 hours local time (2059 hours UTC) on Friday (24 July) night.
• The affected areas include Fethiye, Ölüdeniz, Kalkan, Kaş, Demre, and Finike along the southwestern coastal waters of Turkey.
