According to reports, Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Balla reviewed enhanced preparedness amid rising concerns of a possible COVID-19 resurgence in the state on Monday (16 June). Positive cases increased to 20 on Monday (16 June) with seven new cases confirmed in the last 24 hours and as per the COVID-19 status update of the state health authority, five new cases were confirmed in Imphal West and one each in Thoubal and Kakching district.

The Governor advised the importance of proactive measures, adequate medical infrastructure, and community awareness to ensure the state remains equipped to handle any potential surge in COVID-19 cases.
