As per reports, the Manipur government on Wednesday (10 January) has declined the ground permission for Indian National Congress (INC) leader Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Nyay Yatra at Hatta Kangjeibung in Imphal East district. The event was scheduled to commence on Sunday (14 January) from Imphal.

• Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee president and senior Congress MLA K Meghachandra along with a team of party leaders met Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Wednesday morning (10 January). The Chief Minister informed the leader that the government could not give permission, citing law and order situation in the state.
• Following the permission decline, the venue has been changed to a private place at Khongjom in the Thoubal district from where the party under the leadership of All India Congress Committee (AICC) will launch the event.
