As per reports, the total caseload of COVID-19 sub-variant JN.1 in Maharashtra increased to 110 on Thursday (04 January), with 78 new cases reported. Further, the state recorded a total of 171 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, while the test positivity rate stood at 1.1 percent with 15,404 tests conducted in the same period. Meanwhile, the state also reported two deaths on Thursday (04 January)– one each from Solapur and Kolhapur.
Of the 110 JN.1 cases recorded in the state, 91 are from Pune district, followed by Thane with five cases and Beed with three cases. Two each cases of JN.1 variant were reported from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Nanded, while one each was reported from Solapur, Nagpur and other districts.
