The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) has issued earthquake information for an earthquake that occurred at about 0149 hours (local time) on Sunday (18 January), with an epicentre in northwestern Chiba Prefecture.

The depth is reported to be at 70 kilometres. No tsunami advisory has been issued as of this update.
