As per reports, on Tuesday (13 October), a malfunction was reported at Kaburi Station on the JR Chikuhi Line in Itoshima City, Fukuoka Prefecture. This led to a local train to stop moving. Service was restored about an hour later, but a total of seven trains on both the up and down lines were cancelled, affecting approximately 1,300 people.
JR Kyushu’s operations management department stated that the doors of a train stopped at a station and wouldn’t open. The driver managed to fix the problem by operating switches, but the acceleration handle became immobile, preventing the train from departing.
