As per reports, in response to the terrorist threat issued by Khalistani terrorist Pannu regarding the upcoming Maha Kumbh on Tuesday (24 December), security measures in Prayagraj have been enhanced. The security agencies have increased surveillance, with the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) reinforcing its presence at the fair, and the State Task Force (STF) gathering intelligence on suspects. Further security measures also include horse-riding patrols for the water police and deployed anti-drone systems to mitigate aerial threats.
Additionally, the verification of tenants and employees in areas surrounding the fair, including Daraganj, Kidganj, Arail, and Jhunsi, has been expedited. Furthermore, the Additional Director General (ADG) of Law and Order has instructed local police officials to be on high alert and enforce stringent border checks for smooth traffic flow and security during the event.
