As per reports, the Kerala Students Union (KSU) has called for a statewide educational bandh across Kerala on Thursday (23 July).

• The bandh has been announced in protest against the police action on student demonstrators at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, where students were protesting alleged irregularities and paper leaks in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) examination.
• The KSU, the student wing of the Indian National Congress (INC), stated that the bandh is also intended to protest the detention of Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav and other opposition Members of Parliament during demonstrations near the Prime Minister’s residence.
• As part of the bandh, the KSU has called for a boycott of classes at educational institutions across the state, the organisation of protest marches at district headquarters and participation by students and teachers in solidarity with the nationwide student movement.
