Kakinada SEB apprehends 610 individuals and seizes nearly 7,000 liters of arrack in two-month operation

According to reports, the Kakinada Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) seized 6,997 liters of locally brewed arrack and destroyed 2,65,600 liters of jaggery juice, a common base ingredient for arrack production.

• Further, the SEB has identified and shut down 232 illegal liquor outlets, commonly known as “belt shops,” leading to the arrest of their operators.
• In separate raids, the SEB booked 114 cases of illegal liquor trade, arresting 124 individuals involved in these operations. Another 1,870 liters of illicit liquor was seized.
• During the operation, the SEB apprehended individuals involved in illegal drug activities, seizing 270.6 kilograms of ganja (cannabis).
• In addition to the liquor and drug seizures, the SEB confiscated 2.14 kilograms of silver and a significant amount of cash totaling INR 19.14 lakh during their raids.
