As per reports, the 2022 Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) passers staged protests in Kolkata on Tuesday (19 August) to demand quick recruitment to vacant posts. They started the procession from Karunamoyee. However, before the procession could begin, police intervened. The procession continued forward.

A scuffle has been reported between the protesters and the police as they carried out a roadblock on the board. Several protesters have been arrested and taken to prison in vans by the police.
