As per reports, Israel’s diplomatic presence in India; the embassy in New Delhi and a consulate in Mumbai have been closed since Friday (05 April) for security reasons after threats from Iran following the airstrike in Damascus, triggering fears of revenge attacks.
• A decision has not been taken yet whether the Israeli embassy in Delhi and consulate in Mumbai would be open as per usual.
• Intel agencies have asked local law enforcement units to increase vigil around Jewish establishments, community centres/Chabad Houses in Delhi and Mumbai. Police have also increased security measures across key transit points, including railway stations and the airport.
