As per reports, the Portuguese Institute for the Sea and the Atmosphere on Sunday (07 December) has extended its yellow marine warning for the northern coast of Madeira and the island of Porto Santo, citing a continuation of hazardous sea conditions.
• The alert, which was initially scheduled to last through Tuesday (09 December), has now been prolonged by an additional twelve hours and is now scheduled to remain active from 1500 hours local time (1500 hours UTC) on Monday (08 December) until 1800 hours local time (1800 hours UTC) on Wednesday (09 December).
• Forecasts indicate northwest waves ranging between 04 and 04.50 meters during the warning period, creating conditions conducive to coastal overtopping, strong surf and hazardous navigation.
