The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) reported a tropical wave over Puerto Rico, which will likely generate favourable conditions for increased rainfall across the Dominican Republic on Saturday (23 August).

• Cloudy conditions with scattered showers are expected in eastern and northeastern provinces, including La Altagracia, El Seibo, Hato Mayor, Samana, and Maria Trinidad Sanchez.
• The tropical wave combined with diurnal effects will likely bring heavy downpours, thunderstorms, and possible gusts of wind over provinces such as Monte Plata, Sanchez Ramirez, San Cristobal, San Jose de Ocoa, San Pedro de Macoris, La Romana, Santo Domingo, Monsenor Nouel, La Vega, Santiago, Peravia, Azua, Independencia, Bahoruco, Elias Pina, San Juan, and Dajabón.
