As per reports, Mangaluru International Airport is set to expand its international flight services, particularly to Abu Dhabi, with enhanced connectivity starting Monday (22 July). Air India Express will increase its flights to Abu Dhabi from four times a week to daily, with flight IX 819 departing Mangaluru at 2015 hours local time and IX 820 arriving from Abu Dhabi at 0520 hours local time.

• IndiGo will further boost connectivity with daily flights to Abu Dhabi from 09 August increasing weekly flights to Abu Dhabi from four to 14. Previously, IndiGo operated solely to Dubai with four weekly flights from Mangaluru.
• In addition to international expansions, Air India Express will introduce a new flight to Bengaluru starting Monday (22 July) and has launched a daily flight to Mumbai from Tuesday (16 July) enhancing domestic connectivity.
• These developments are expected to increase weekly flight movements at Mangaluru International Airport from 276 to 344, reflecting a 25 per cent increase in operational capacity by 09 August 2024.
