As per reports, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Dubai Police are scheduled to introduce truck movement restrictions across Dubai from Thursday (01 October).
• The restrictions vary according to the road and location. Al Qudra Street, Al Meydan Street, all crossings and the Airport Tunnel are subject to round-the-clock truck movement restrictions. Sheikh Zayed Road, Beirut Street and residential areas including Al Mizhar, Muhaisnah and Oud Al Muteena are subject to restrictions from 0600 hours local time (0200 hours UTC) to 2200 hours local time (1800 hours UTC).
• Airport Street, Oman Street and Damascus Street are subject to three daily restriction periods from 0630 hours local time (0230 hours UTC) to 0830 hours local time (0430 hours UTC), from 1300 hours local time (0900 hours UTC) to 1500 hours local time (1100 hours UTC), and from 1730 hours local time (1330 hours UTC) to 2000 hours local time (1600 hours UTC).
• Emirates Road (E611) is exempt from the restrictions.
• The restrictions are intended to improve traffic flow, reduce congestion and enhance road safety while maintaining the efficient movement of goods across the emirate.
