As per reports, the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) issued an early warning of potential moderate to heavy rainfall in several Indonesian provinces on Wednesday (10 April).
• The provinces to be potentially impacted by moderate to heavy rainfall along with strong winds and lightning, include Banten, West Java, Central Java, East Java, Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, and South Sumatra.
• The agency forecast that extreme weather events might also occur in West Sumatra, South Sumatra, Riau, Bengkulu, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, Maluku, and Southeast Sulawesi.
• Those in South Sulawesi, West Kalimantan, and East Kalimantan were also cautioned about moderate to heavy rainfall, strong winds, and lightning.
• The provinces of Papua, West Papua, Central Java, East Java, South Sumatra, and Jambi were cautioned to stay alert due to the potential impact of the extreme weather events.
• Meanwhile, Jakarta’s weather conditions were generally forecast to be cloudy and sunny on Wednesday (10 April) morning. However, light to moderate rainfall in the afternoon and cloudy conditions at night are predicted in all areas in the metropolitan city.
