As per reports, an incoming storm is forecast to impact the Maritimes on Thursday (13 February). The storm is expected to affect travel as a result of snowfall, ice pellets, freezing rain, rainfall and gusty winds from Thursday (13 February) morning into Thursday (13 February) night.
• The heaviest snowfall is expected in New Brunswick where widespread amounts of 15 to 25 centimetres of snowfall are anticipated in central and northern areas.
• Further south, the snowfall will be lower, however there may be a prolonged period of three to six hours of ice pellets and freezing rain.
• Southeast winds are likely to gust from 50 kilometres per hour to more than 70 kilometres per hour across most of Nova Scotia and along New Brunswick’s Fundy coast. Stronger gusts in the 70 kilometres per hour to more than 90 kilometres per hour range may affect for Cape Breton. Les Suetes winds are likely to be stronger.
• Snowfall is set to begin on Thursday (13 Fbeurary) morning for western Nova Scotia and most of New Brunswick, before spreading eastward during the afternoon on Thursday (13 February).
• The storm system is due to disperse on Friday (14 February).
