As per reports, extreme cold and arctic outflow warnings remain in place for parts of the of British Columbia as of Thursday (06 February). Environment Canada reports that an arctic air mass is bringing strong winds through the Whistler Valley with wind-chill values near minus 20 degrees Celsius. Officials stated that winds are expected to ease by Friday (07 February).
As of Thursday (06 February), snowfall continues in Metro Vancouver, where temperatures are below freezing.
• Inland regions of the North Coast, including Terrace and Kitimat, are also under the same Arctic outflow warning.
• An extreme cold warning is in place for Yoho and Kootenay national parks in southeastern British Columbia, with Environment Canada stating that wind chill values near minus 35 degrees Celsius are anticipated before temperatures moderate on Sunday (09 February).
• The Village of Clinton, about 40 kilometres northwest of Cache Creek, was listed as the coldest spot in the province as of Thursday (of February) morning at minus 34 degrees Celsius.
