According to the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology, a combination of southwest monsoon winds and low-pressure systems over the Gulf of Thailand, the Mekong River Basin, and the South China Sea will affect weather conditions across Cambodia from Monday (02 June) to Wednesday (04 June).
Key regional forecasts include:
• Plains region are likely to have minimum temperatures around 25 degree Celsius and maximum up to 37 degree Celsius. Provinces including Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Kampong Thom, and Kampong Cham will see isolated rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds covering about 20 percent of the area.
• Plateau region are likely to have temperatures ranging from 25 degree Celsius to 36 degree Celsius, with rain and thunderstorms expected in Preah Vihear, Ratanakiri, and Mondulkiri, affecting up to 25 percent of the region
• Coastal areas with provinces such as Koh Kong, Sihanoukville, Kampot, and Kep are likely to experience light to moderate rain with thunderstorms, affecting 15 percent of the area. Sea waves are expected between 0.50 and 0.75 meters in height.
