As per reports, Libya’s Ministry of Water Resources, under the Government of National Unity, has forecast inclement weather conditions including cooler temperatures, scattered thunderstorms and moderate to heavy rainfall from Saturday (24 October).
• The forecast covers coastal and northern areas extending from Ras Ajdir near the Tunisian border through Tripoli, the Al Jafara Plain, the Nafusa Mountains and the coastal corridor towards Sirte.
• Further in the east, the forecast covers the Gulf region, Brega, Ajdabiya, the Benghazi Plain and areas extending towards Emsaed, including the Jabal al-Akhdar region.
• According to forecast, rainfall may intensify on Monday (26 October) and Tuesday (27 October), with scattered thunderstorms.
• The Ministry of Water Resources has advised residents to stay away from wadis, drainage channels and low-lying areas and to avoid crossing them when water is flowing.
