As per reports, a daily nighttime curfew has been imposed on all foreign nationals residing in or visiting the Greater Zuwara Municipality effective Wednesday (03 June).
• The Committee for the Inventory and Regulation of Foreigners’ Status announced that foreign citizens must refrain from any travel or circulation within the city limits between 2300 hours local time (2100 hours UTC) and 0500 hours local time (0300 hours UTC) daily.
• This precautionary measure will remain in effect from the date of publication until further notice. Local authorities stated that the decision is part of preventive and regulatory guidelines enacted to preserve public security, ensure a stable environment, and eliminate potential nighttime risks, emphasizing that the declaration does not target any specific national group.
• Reports indicate that the administrative committee has directed all resident and visiting foreigners to carry valid identification cards, residence permits, or work documentation at all times for verification by law enforcement personnel.
• Furthermore, the committee has specifically instructed owners of corporate entities, factories, workshops, and retail establishments to inform their foreign workforces of the curfew parameters and systematically align business operating hours with the newly instituted guidelines.
• Full compliance with these temporary security directives has been cited by municipal officials as a fundamental requirement to bolster stability and preserve public order within the city.
