As per reports, the National Weather Service (NWS) has forecast severe thunderstorms along with strong winds and heavy rainfall for parts of New York through Friday (14 June) afternoon.
• Heavy rainfall and thunderstorms are forecast between 1400 hours to 1500 hours (local time) and 2100 hours to 2300 hours (local time) on Friday (14 June). The chance of precipitation is between 60 – 80 percent.
• Wind gusts in excess of 58 mph are expected.
• Waterbury, Newburgh and Patterson are under the Slight Risk areas for the thunderstorms.
• A rip current statement will be in effect until 2100 hours local time on Friday (14 June) in Kings (Brooklyn), Suffolk, Southern Queens and Southern Nassau.
