As per reports, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) and Indian National Centre for Ocean Information (INCOIS) have issued a forecast indicating the occurrence of swell surge waves in the sea off Mumbai on Saturday (04 May), continuing until Sunday (05 May) at 2330 hours. The forecast anticipates a rise in wave height by 0.5 to 1.5 metres during this period.
Consequently, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has issued a warning on Saturday (04 May), advising individuals against venturing into the Arabian Sea due to ongoing high tide alerts. Further, the BMC commissioner, has directed civic officials to collaborate with the police to ensure effective management. Additionally, security personnel deployed at the city’s beaches have been instructed to prevent people from entering the water.
