The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, and squall along with strong surface winds has been issued for Kerala and Lakhshadweep on Wednesday (14 May).

• Affected districts include Kasaragod, Kozhikode, Palakkad, Thrissur, Ernakulam, Idukki, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta, Kollam, Thiruvanthapuram, Kannur, Wayanad, Malappuram, and Lakshadweep.
• On Thursday (15 May), a yellow alert for thunderstorms, lightning, and squall along with strong surface winds remains for all districts of Kerala, and no further warnings have been issued for Lakshadweep.
