The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for heavy rainfall in the following districts of Odisha including Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Rayagarha, Gajapathi, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Khordha, Puri, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Dhenkanal, Jajapur, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Kendraparha from Saturday (19 October) onwards.

On Sunday (20 October) due to depression over the east-central Bay of Bengal, a yellow alert for heavy rainfall has been issued for Nauparha, Balangir, Subarnapur, Bauda, Kandhamal, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Rayagarha, Gajapathi, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Khordha, Puri, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Dhenkanal, Jajapur, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Kendraparha by the IMD. No weather warning has been issued for Friday (18 October).
